How Lapel sources and scores North Carolina lobbying activity.

Lapel ingests NC Secretary of State lobbying filings each morning and normalizes lobbyist, principal, and firm names into consistent entities. We track new registrations, dropped relationships, and firm switches month-over-month.

Urgency scores are calculated using filing recency, frequency of changes, and network activity across related entities. Every insight is traceable back to the original filing.
